The purpose of the book is to represent various ways to put value education in practice at pre-schools through different activities. The structure of the book is based on the National Curriculum for Pre-Schools (2008) which states that the cognitive and social development of children should be nurtured in seven areas: me and environment; language and speech; Estonian language as foreign language; mathematics; art; music; physical activity. In addition to connecting these areas to value education, articles in the book describe games for value education and provide suggestions for handling media influences.

Good practices of value education can also be found in this book. In 2009, the Pre-School of Value Education Award competition was organised for the first time. Here you can read the paper by the winner, Pärnu Päikesejänku Pre-School.
